Native Hedgehog Pellets

A nutritious balanced diet for native hedgehogs, providing the correct level of Calcium to Phosphorus, to prevent bone related issues such as MBD, this crippling condition is brought on by an imbalance of Calcium to Phosphorus, the high level of Phosphorus found in many foods blocks the absorption of Calcium, leading to the hedgehog supplementing its own calcium from its bones, this leads to weak bones & causes a condition known as wobbly leg.

Our Pro-Biotic Insect Pellets are manufactured by us in North Norfolk, and they contain a high level of insects & Poultry Meal as well as a balanced level of vitamins & minerals. Pro-Biotics are natural yeasts that increase & promote gut performance, helping to improve digestion & general well-being.

Sometimes your hogs may turn their nose up at the food and this is because they are used to the high fat diet of cat biscuits and mealworms, please be persistent with our crumble as it is nutritionally balanced specifically for our Native hedgehogs. Mixing a small amount of vegetable oil with our crumble makes it a bit more palatable for the hogs, try mixing this with their existing food and slowly switching until you are just feeding the crumble.
